Chronicle of an announced vacation: the last day at the lab

Everything started tuesday when I realized that I didn’t have one of the forms for the renovation of the visa, but I said to myself I know I have it because I saw it last Monday…so I took a not “look for the I797B”….I woke up, had my breakfast and head to the lab. I started looking for the form an it wasn’t anywhere “did in throw it away when I was cleaning?” I went to he recycling bin bit it wasn’t there….it has to be at home. At that moment I decided to finish the work with the mice so I went to get the key for the mice room and obviously it wasn’t there, damn I LOST the key also, because obviously I was the last person that went to the facility on tuesday. I looked for the key everywhere and couldn’t find it. It has to be at home! So I took my bike and went home, I FOUND the form :) it was with all the other papers just didn’t see it the day before (BTW the real name was I797A not B), but the key wasnt at home where the hell did I put that stupid key????! Back to the lab to look for the key, I asked EVERYONE in the mice facility nobody saw it or anything I was freaking out!!! So my boss asked me how is it going? And I answer I just lost the key for the mice room :s (not the best start for the last day at the lab) I went back and re-search for the key, and there it was hanging just a few inches further from where I was looking before WTF!!! How i didnt see it before?? Who cares I found it and that was what it counts! :). I froze the mine marrow, had lunch with Sabrina and George, ran the gel, did the figures, did the orders thought Deepoka and Xiomara how to do orders , gave the reagents to Carolina, went with Megan to get her mice, gave the viruses to Won, talked with my boss about the gel and retake the pictures (AWESOME last minute RESULT) gave some protocols to Carolina, upload the protocols to google Doc, confirm the shuttle for tomorrow, call the computer guys! Be done by 4:30 and I think I breath at some point…say good bye and go home! Done with the lab free at last!!!!!
And tomorrow to JFK and Friday I’ll be landing in SCL, I think it was worth it one last day of hyper stuff in exchange of 5 weeks of PEACE!

first my father should be waiting for me with an egg sandwich made by himself!!!!

I have to go and visit my beloved friend Gabo!, who will bake an INCREDIBLE ONION QUICHE!!!!

The amazing Rodrigo Tapia will promised me “marraquetas con palta”!!!!

My Mom will cook all the delicious dishes I am craving for: Pastel de choclo, humitas, porotos con mazamorra, ensalada de porotos verdes, paella, pescado (frito, caldillo, al vapor etc.)

and my Dad will cook a mouthwatering CAZUELA DE CAMPO!!!!

MANJAR (AKA dulce de leche) everyday!!!!!!

TABLILLAS!!!!!

get a cool hair style (again the amazing Rodrigo Tapia will be involved in this)

CARRETEAR until I die!!!!!! with all my friends!!!!!!

also i have to do the visa stuff and the passport but they are not as important as the surf above…. I know I am forgetting a lot of things but I will be updating, I still have some time to think about it :)
